GovFeed - Government Data Feed
Over the past week, I built GovFeed, a full-stack platform designed to make it easier for individuals to stay on top of government news, grants, and defense-related opportunities. It's a project I created to explore the intersection of data and personalized information discovery.
The goal of GovFeed is simple: transform complex, hard-to-access public data into a clean, tailored feed. I used Go (Gin), React, and PostgreSQL to build a Twitter-style interface that surfaces curated articles and opportunities from dozens of trusted RSS and government APIs, including Federal Register and DOD news.
GovFeed supports user login, feedback tracking (👍 👎 🔖 🚫), search-by-topic, AI-powered summaries via OpenAI, and personalized topic boosting. I also integrated a fallback engine that pulls related keywords when a user searches for uncommon or broad terms — ensuring the feed is always populated with useful, relevant content.
Information should empower people — GovFeed makes that possible.
